Katsutoku Toyohira — Restaurant in Sapporo

I had essentially a combo plate which was delicious. First time being presented with a mortar and pestle. Use it to grind some sesame seeds and then you can add tonkatsu sauce. Everything was great but the portions were really big and I couldn’t finish. Mine was tonkatsu, fries fish(horse mackerel, and fried scallops. Rice, shredded cabbage, pickled vegetables, and miso soup all accompanied the meal. It’s really a place for big eaters as all this was only $10.83 at current exchange rates. Something like ¥1750. Crazy good value for really great food...

The bowl was curry was opened in package and not made immediately. The fried pork was too fried and my throat was pain after eating it. There was also a bowl of cabbage not cooked, with no sauce, how am I suppose to eat it? With not any sauce? The curry was then too sweet after eating after a while. We actually came to kill a bit of time while waiting for our number at the popular sushi place across from it but were pleasantly surprised by how good the assorted katsu were. I had the prawn, cod cheek and pork fillet meal - each was fried to perfection with a light and crispy breading. The fillet was tender, both the prawn and cod cheeks were really fresh.
