SAMA 北大前店 has completely redefined my expectations for soup curry. This place is nothing short of life-changing, particularly if you're a fan of well-crafted, flavorful dishes.
Ambiance: The restaurant boasts a cozy and inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. It's a perfect blend of traditional and modern, creating a unique dining experience.
Food: The food here is cooked to absolute perfection. If you’re trying soup curry for the first time, I highly recommend choosing the coconut soup base. The rich, creamy texture combined with a subtle sweetness makes for an unforgettable meal. You also have the option to add various toppings to customize your dish to your liking.
I personally tried the seseri coconut curry soup, and it was the best soup curry I've ever had. The flavors were balanced beautifully, and the ingredients were fresh and high-quality.
Service: Ordering is a breeze with their QR code system, and it's very English-friendly, making it accessible for non-Japanese speakers. The staff is fluent in English and incredibly helpful, ensuring that your dining experience is smooth and enjoyable.
In summary, SAMA 北大前店 offers an unparalleled soup curry experience with its exceptional food, welcoming ambiance, and outstanding service. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in some of the best soup...
Read moreI had the February special with sausage, meat, hambagu, zangi, horumon and various vegetables with the coconut milk sauce, with broccoli add-ons and the yuzu lassi. It was delicious but I will not say that it is my favourite soup curry. I preferred my wife’s prawn based soup curry but even then, I must give no.1 spot to Soup Curry Okushiba, no.2 Sama and no.3 Garaku. With the limited time I have left in Sapporo I do hope to catch one more soup curry place. In any case, you can’t go wrong with any of these places.
We lined up at 11.10, and by 11.30 we were still the only customers there. In fact, we were there before 3 of the staff came in. It seemed like a less busy day because it didn’t fill up and when we were done, there were still quite a few...
Read moreWhen visiting Sapporo I was recommended this restaurant as the place to try soup curry. I ordered the chicken soup curry (with coconut milk) with extra vegetables, with a side of rice topped with cheese, and an apple cinnamon Lassi to drink. Total was just under 2200 yen.
The restaurant has a few tables as well as a small bar seating (3 seats). Very cozy restaurant atmosphere. I was offered an English menu as well and my waitress was very nice. When ready to order, you can just press a button at your table and the waitress will come.
The soup curry was delicious with a nice flavor. It's just like curry just a bit more liquid. The chicken was tender and fell off the bone. Great dish on a cold day....
