ぎょうざ飯店 — Restaurant in Sasebo

Posting this for the foreigners who are looking for a lesser known place to eat in the haiki area.

This place is a hidden gem and a relic of 1985 being ran exactly as it has for the past 40 years.

Husband and wife behind the counter. Bring a friend who reads japanese or just order the chukadon and a gyoza. Dont look at the walls or stare too closely at anything. Eat the food, shut your mouth, pay your bill, and thank me later for the review.

Delicious everything made in a timely fashion. Parking is across the street in the gravel lot. If you block someone in, it's OK... just listen for your license plate to be called out if you have to move. It's real casual.

Definitely not a 5star hotel experience, but it is a true japanese mom-n-pop relic that is slowly...

Famous local Gyouza specialty restaurant. You can only find in Sasebo. The fried rice was so good. One of the best i've eaten. The gyouza is especially flavorful. They usually have these set meals for solo diners. And you can share the servings since its very plentiful.

今回は、ぎょうざが食べたくなり むしろ、ぎょうざに特化したお店を探してみつけ行ってみた。 その名も「ぎょうざ飯店」 シンプルで強い名前だ。 ローカルで人気なお店らしく、地元の方や仕事のお昼にお客さんがひっきりなしに来ていた。 で、その店名の「ぎょうざ」メインで注文、サイドにパリパリ皿うどん(ここではパリパリ焼きそば)を頼んでみた。 御夫婦でされているらしく、旦那さんがぎょうざ担当だ。なんと中華鍋で焼いている。 それも道具も動作も全く無駄がない。 完璧だ。 ワタシは2人前を注文したが正解。 中華鍋にぎょうざ2人前がぐるっと丁度ひとまわりなのだ。 皿にはぐるっと美しい並びのぎょうざが登場！ 感動します。

ぎょうざは、皮も若干厚め、具はびっしり大きく、博多の小さなものの３倍はあるかと。 嬉しい限りだ。

で美しくウマい！ 最近また、餃子(ぎょうざ)にハマり ちょいちょい食べているが、 ここはオリジナリティもあり 箸がすすむ。 サイドで頼んだ、パリパリ麺。 これまたウマい！ 餡もさることながら、パリパリの麺がなにか違う。 伸びにくいというか、やわやわにならないというか、ちゃんと食感の残したやわめになる感じがとてもいい！ 満足でした！
