Chiori An — Restaurant in Sasebo

I know absolutely everyone loves this place but we had a less than stellar experience. The pad Thai and crab rangoons were amazing. However, the sushi we ordered was inedible. Several of the rolls had a nasty “fishy” taste. Good sushi should have a fishy taste. We didn’t get food poisoning but had we eaten more than a single piece of each roll we probably would have. The fish just was not fresh. It was surprising and disappointing because people usually rave about the place.

The food was underwhelming. We had sushi and it wasn’t that great. The sailor roll was basically mush with no flavor. Shrimp killer was decent. We tried crab wontons and there was maybe a pinch of cream cheese and hardly any crab meat.
