We came here because all other places were fully booked or closed. It was nice that each group gets an enclosed booth seat but there is no sound proofing. Order is done via touchpad and English menu is available. There are only tourists in this shop. Got really disappointed after the food arrived. Most of them looked and tasted like microwavable food. They named themselves "genuine" izakaya but if you have been to a proper izakaya, you know the difference. Calling themselves "genuine" is a disgrace to all other proper izakayas. It was really expensive and not worth any penny at all. This was our first meal in this city and it brought a bad impression. If I knew the food was this bad, I would have gone to a fast food restaurant or a convenient store for dinner instead. I hope other restaurants have a higher standard quality of food...
Read moreI made the mistake of not researching this place before I went there, the 10 variety sushemi assortment was not at all fresh, the prawn was rotten and part of the salmon was rotten too. None of the food we ordered was fresh which is disappointing given that shimoda is a port town with an abundance of fresh seafood available(fish market 500m away), the fried food and rice dishes were ok but nothing special. The only saving grace of this place were the cheap drinks and good service, I would not recommend this place, there are much better options...
