Read that this was probably the best place to eat Sakura ebi, let alone, kaki-age. And since we were already in Shizuoka, why not. Jumped on a train to Yui and walked 1.6km. There was already a queue at the restaurant. Didn’t know I had to take a queue number and specify on a clipboard the number of guests and our preferred seating (tatami or chair) until a guest in queue helped us — very kind of her. Ordered their recommended set and it didn’t disappoint. It included sashimi, which was very fresh btw, but that was not what we came for. The star was the kaki-age. Crispy and super umami! There was also Sakura ebi in the rice and soup. Just delicious! Their kaki-age tendon was also super good! The sweet sauce wasn’t cloying. After lunch, we walked 2.0km to the next station, Kambara, to head back to Shizuoka. Meal was definitely worth the effort. Must try if you are...

A warm family-run restaurant that was very popular with locals. As with most restaurants in this town their speciality is cherry shrimps, which unfortunately we were not keen to try. がメインのシンプルながらも美味しい定食。 桜エビのかき揚げは揚げたてでしかも桜エビの風味がふわっと立ち上ります。サックサクで口に頬張るとジュワッと桜エビのほのかな甘みが口いっぱいに広がって美味しい🤤

桜エビの炊き込みご飯はご飯いっぱいに桜エビの甘さが広がって桜エビの旬を堪能できる一品です🥰

この時期はとても混んでますがやはりどうしても桜エビ尽くしを堪能したい🤩

桜エビ天丼もとても気になるし、桜エビのかき揚げのざるそばも気になる‼️次回リベンジだ
