HYOTANZUSHI @Esaka Tokyu Shop — Restaurant in Suita

I came here for my first meal in Osaka, and it’s a charming little restaurant tucked along the street. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize they closed early, so we ended up dining close to closing time.

The food was fantastic — an assortment of fresh sushi and a flavourful soup that really hit the spot. It was filling enough to leave me satisfied without being too heavy, and the prices were quite reasonable for the quality of food.

However, what I didn’t enjoy was the fact that since we arrived near closing time, the kitchen had already started cleaning up while there were still customers, including my family. This made the air inside quite humid and damp, and it felt more like I was dining in a fish market than in a restaurant. I wish the kitchen had waited a bit longer to start washing up, as it did affect the overall atmosphere.

東京にて仕事中に関西旅行話で盛り上がったお客様に、教えていただいたお店です。

そのお客様曰く。 大阪へ無理矢理にでも出張を作ってでも、このひょうたん寿し東急江坂店へ来たいのだ。とのこと。 その話を聞いてから、二年。 今回、やっと帰省を兼ねて家内と、関西へ来たついでに念願の成就です。

いやいや。 さすが、わざわざ東京から来たくなる気持ちが解るお鮨やお料理です。 先ず、てっさが安くて美味すぎる。ヒラアジも美味すぎる。 そして、家内しか食べられませんでしたが、鱚の塩にぎりが絶品だそうです。 他にも、鮪や太刀魚、鯖が美味さをたたみかけて来ます。

惜しむらくは、日本酒(地酒)の酒類がもう少し欲しいくらいでしょうか。 でも、それを上回るくらいのお鮨とお料理の美味さが、お店にある酒で満足させてくれるのですが。

また、関西へ来た際は食べに来たいと思います。
