Upon arrival, I immediately chanced upon out a takeaway stand from this local institution to sample their famous offerings. The pork buns were a delightful departure from the Hong Kong-style dim sum I'm more familiar with. The skin had a pleasant chewiness that provided a satisfying texture. Inside, the filling was less sweet than I expected, instead offering a more savory and peppery flavor profile that I found quite appealing. This a popular shop inside the KIX airport domestic terminal right near the check in area before security. We arrived early for check in and had plenty of time to walk around. Decided to try it before head into security. Did not take long to get a table. Good idea to decide early what you want to order as this is a busy place and often long line. The space is not very big.
