珈琲の店 椛琳 — Restaurant in Takeo

I went on 2.4.2025. It does not have an english menu but the cute waitress was very patient as we try to translate the menu and choose which food to order. This place has a nice vintage and cosy feel. Looks like a business run by a family which specialised in parfait. Regretted not trying the parfait but i was having food coma after a scrumptious meal of hamburger beef steak in japanese curry and comes with salad. The potato, carrot and onion in the curry is so well cooked and has balance taste. My partner ordered the fluffy beef hamburg steak with japanese sauce that come with salad and a soup. The salad dressing was nice has a balance taste of umami and sesame dressing and comes with crispy transparent strip like noodle. Veges in the salad was fresh. The soup that comes with hamburg steak was so homey and delicious and the sweet potato and fishcake tempura and the bean sprout was delicious too . Cost us 2780 yen in total. There is a free parking just right outside the store but with limited slot of about less than 10slots. Looks like more popular with locals as I was the only foreigner. The owner of the business is very friendly and polite. The waitress was efficient to top up your plain water when its finishing. My recent visit was a shocking display of neglect. The dining area looked like it hadn't been maintained in years. We encountered holes in the walls and ceiling patched with tape and old cloths, giving the entire place a very rundown feel. The booth seating was just as bad – deeply sunken with actual holes that were lazily covered with sheets and cushions. The most egregious issue, however, was a barely concealed nail sticking out from the wall behind our table, which actually scratched my arm and left me injured and bleeding. What's worse, when we brought this dangerous hazard to the attention of a staff member, his response was a dismissive 'Oh, I know about that,' with absolutely no concern or apology. The food was forgettable (mediocre at best), though I will say the dessert offered a brief, solitary moment of relief. Safety and cleanliness are clearly not priorities...

昔からある喫茶店。久しぶりに行ったけど建物が残念なほどに古い。トイレが和式で入るのをためらったほど。オススメと言われハンバーグランチとイチゴパフェを注文。味は良くもなく悪くもなく普通。でもたったこれだけ？って感じ。ハンバーグを持ってきたあとに店員さんが「ランチにはデザートでアイスクリームが付きますがどうされますか？」とのこと。ランチにデザートが付いてると表示もなければパフェを頼んだときに説明もなし。「要りません」と答えると「そーですよねー(笑)」と言われました。なんだかバカにされた気分。肝心のイチゴパフェのイチゴは少ないしアイスクリームもこくがなくて最後までとてもじゃないけど食べれなかった。あれであの値段は無いと思う。あと店員さんが居酒屋？と思うくらい声が大きすぎる。BGMにクラシックが流れてるけど音が大きすぎて騒音レベル。元気な店員さんに興味がある人は行ってもいいかもですが、私はもういかないと思います。懐かしさだけでお...
