A fantastic find in Takeo! As visitors from Singapore, we were so happy to discover Emi Cafe. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We had a great chat with the owner, who shared his love for Singaporean food, which made us feel right at home.
The food here is truly awesome. We ordered the fluffy egg sandwich with yuzu, and it was an absolute delight—light, flavorful, and a perfect balance of savory and citrus. We also tried the French toast, which was equally delicious. We noticed many other customers ordering the Keema Curry, so that's definitely on our list for our next visit!
To top it all off, the staff gave us a great recommendation: the Takeo City Library, which is just a two-minute drive away. It was a beautiful and peaceful spot, making for a perfect end to our meal.

Read moreWent in on a rainy day and the owner very graciously helped us lay out our drenched rain coats to dry and warmly welcomed us. He was curious and friendly and asked us about our time in Takeo. The menu is unique and extensive, featuring ingredients that are local and seasonal to Takeo. I was even surprised to see a vegan curry option! As a vegetarian, I really appreciated that. I had the lemongrass tea and matcha Hojicha tofu gateau, which were wonderfully moist and packed with umami. They served our orders beautifully in ceramic pieces made by local potters in Takeo. I especially loved the plate I had as it reminded me of a rainy cloud, which just added to the cozy ambience. I really appreciate the way they highlight the specialities of Takeo farmers and craftsmen through their carefully curated menu. Emi cafe is a must visit if you ever...
Read moreThe best cafe with most delicious coffee and egg sandwich in Japan. The manager here who can speak Korean and English well was so friendly to introduce me and my wife to the owner of this beautiful cafe who used to be the mayor of City of Takeo and produced the world famous Takeo City Library as a city mayor. I could understand why this beautiful cafe has the similar architectural feeling with the Library. He also introduced us another beautiful lady staff who was from my hometown in Canada. I really enjoyed the friendly conversation with them all and also enjoyed the best coffee, egg sandwich and banana cake there. I couldn’t forget the friendly feeling of this cafe. It was the one of the best moments of my Japan trip. Please come and enjoy this feeling and taste, specially egg sandwich. I would come back here someday again....
