What an absolute gem of a coffee shop in the middle of Chikatsuyu. We were hiking the Kumano Kodo for 3 days so it was such a treat to find this spot. The owner Kazu speaks English and very friendly.I noticed right away the artwork on their logo was Native PNW totem art from my hometown. I asked him about it and he told me the story of him and his wife visiting PNW yeara ago. The shop is filled with books and he roasts his beans there. I bought a bag to bring home. We’ve been to Japan three times and this was one of the top 3 best cups of coffee I had, and we’ve been to shops all over. If you’re in the area and like coffee, this place is a must.

We were walking the Kumano Kodo and were pleasantly surprised to find this absolute gem of a cafe. Excellent pour-over served here. The shop has a wonderful aroma of cedar wood and freshly roasted coffee beans, with a very relaxed ambiance to match (jazz was playing when we visited). There's also a small selection of groceries available.

I had just come over a mountain pass and was looking for something warm to drink when I saw this place. I was shocked to find such a wonderful little shop. The coffee was great and the staff really kind. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

I’m local here and this is one of my favorite spots to visit and stay for Kazu’s awesome fresh coffee! Personally I love the Rwandan blend. As everyone says he is very hospitable, welcoming, and speaks English as well.

Also I visit the place next door for my monthly hair cut. Getting a great hair cut and grabbing grounded coffee beans on the way out is becoming my favorite...
