What a find! This restaurant is clearly a labour of love. Everything from the food to the drinks menu was beyond our expectation.
Amazing food: started with a guacamole side dish; next we ordered the beef tacos, which came with two different cuts of beef and good portion sizes; then moved onto the generously sized chipotle-chicken quesadillas; finally, ended with chicken wings in a really great sauce. In reality, we were already quite full after the quesadillas, but we wanted to try one more thing from the menu - I highly recommend the chicken wings.
Great drinks menu: a selection of mexican beers is always appreciated. Both of us were also impressed by the mojito and margharita - they certainly made them strong!
The atmosphere was relaxed and the owners were attentive and friendly. Overall the food and service were excellent.
Will definitely be coming back. Easily the best mexican food I've...

Of course some of the menu caters to a Japanese audience, as west coast American gringo myself, I felt that other menu items really captured Mexican cuisine very well.
Try the burrito, and if you're hungry the large size is fantastic.
This is the kind of place that you wish were in your neighborhood. Better than 99% of Mexican restaurants in Japan!
The homemade hot sauces and like the icing on the cake.
I don't often even bother rating most Mexican spots in Japan, the disappointment is constant. This place is casual, like a Mexican coffee shop vibe. Fantastic food though. Worth a...
Read moreHappy Go Lucky is an amazing Mexican restaurant in Tokyo. The food is absolutely delicious—the enchiladas are some of the best I’ve ever had, and the quesadillas are incredible. The tacos are packed with flavor too, but my personal favorites are definitely the quesadillas and enchiladas. The burritos are huge, juicy, and satisfying, with portions that are way bigger than expected.
On top of the great food, the owner and his wife are genuinely kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I’ve tried a lot of Mexican spots in Tokyo, and this one feels truly authentic. No complaints at all—it’s easily a 5 out...
