This is for my experience in May 2024. My friend and I were hungry after exploring the area and we found Kikori Cafe. The owner/chef was friendly and he made a delicious BLT sandwich. He even followed me back on social media in which I am honored!

The vibe of the cafe has a retro/eco feel. It definitely feels like you’re in a big tree house. Or it feels like a very nice cabin and you’re on a peaceful retreat!

You can really feel the calm and nature spirit of Okutama at Kikori Cafe.

I hope to be back in the near...

amazing cafe near the hatonosu canyon—a perfect way to end the day swimming in the gorge. atmosphere was perfect with all the trinket and book collections they have and record music playing. these add sweet and rustic touch to their place, which sits on the edge of the river. my only qualm is that the dressing they used for the sandwich was a bit too strong for my taste, but otherwise would recommend going if you’re...

You can really tell the food is made with love - I ordered egg sandwich and my partner ordered a cup of soup and toast - it was simple and remarkably good. Not some over the top restaurant looking for good reviews, just good people in a really beautiful space, making modest food with love, remarkably well. You can really tell the food is made with love - I ordered egg sandwich and my partner ordered a cup of soup and toast - it was simple and remarkably good. Not some over the top restaurant looking for good reviews, just good people in a really beautiful space, making modest food with love, remarkably well. My favorite place I've been outside of Tokyo city and I will continue to return! I even got a photo with the owner :)
