Out of all the places to have a BBQ along the Tama River, I recommend this place using a rental company that takes care of the BBQ equipment, tables, chairs and large tents. Try and bring your own food and drinks It has grass!!! And Trees!!! It does get a bit windy, but the tents are safely secured by the rental company. 朝の光が多摩川の水面にきらめく頃、私はこの場所へと足を運びました。最寄りの駅から徒歩でおおよそ15分、住宅街を抜けてゆったりとした川沿いの風景に変わるあたりで気分が自然と整ってくる感じがあります。予約不要で無料という都内では希少なスタイルのバーベキュー場ということもあり、手軽さと自由さのバランスがとても魅力的でした。

広めの芝生スペースには、テントやレジャーシートが思い思いに並び、子どもたちの笑い声や炭のはぜる音が心地よく響いていました。私たちは小型のグリルと食材一式を持参し、炭を起こすところからスタート。多摩川の水面を眺めながらの調理は、それだけで特別な時間に感じられます。食材は事前に駅前のスーパーで調達し、シンプルな野菜とお肉でも炭火で焼くと一気にご馳走になる感覚がありました。

良かった点は、風の通りやすい開けたロケーションと、川沿い特有ののんびりとした空気感です。自然に囲まれながらもアクセスは悪くなく、公共交通での来場でも全く問題ありません。また、他者の意見として、春には桜が楽しめるとの声もあり、季節ごとに表情が変わる点も魅力だと思います。

一方で気になったのは、水場がないため、炊事や手洗いは携帯用の水やウェットティッシュで代用する必要があること。トイレも和式のみで数は限られているので、小さなお子さんがいる方は注意したほうが良いかもしれません。そして直火は禁止されており、焚き火台やグリルの持参が必須となります。ゴミはすべて持ち帰り制で、炭の処理も自分たちで行います。

アウトドア初心者には少し準備のハードルを感じるかもしれませんが、逆に言えば、最低限のルールを守れば自由度の高い使い方ができる場所です。家族での休日、友人とのちょっとした集まり、そして一人で川を眺めながら食事するにも向いていると思います。
