Bottom line up front...the food was muy muy tasty. 5-star flavor. It was authentic, and it ALMOST satisfied my cravings, especially after moving from the US southwest. HOWEVER, there were unfortunately some downsides that outnumbered the good flavor that led to the rating. The place is located down a very tight road and there is no parking, so you have to locate a pay parking lot nearby and walk back. It only has like...three tables (very small), but I imagine it is not always packed so you could probably get a seat. The portion size was very small, especially for the price, namely, the burrito (size of a crepe). We also ordered puerco de salsa verde, taquitos, and lots of tacos (Al pastor, chorizo, and carnitas). Overall, it was quite tasty, but for just shy of 5,000 yen, we still left hungry and had to snack when...
Read moreHands down the best Mexian food I've had in Japan! The portions are a little small, but I think that's a good thing because it allows you to try more things on their menu! I have been a few times, tried most of the menu, and have not had anything I didnt like. The owner is very friendly, polite and welcoming to his restaurant. The Taco al Pastor, Burrito, Tortilla Soup and Enchiladas are all things you must try here. In that order too!
As some have mentioned it is a smaller place, and you must plan on parking about a block away in a pay to park. Will be roughly 400yen for 2 hours. But just like the portions sizes, I think it adds to the experience. You will have a quieter more personal time, and the walk back to your car will help your digestion because you'll want to eat more...
Read moreThe food was good. We got there at 2:45 and they were going to close at 3:00. The guy almost refused to cook for us (he had cleaned up, there were no customers, he was ready to split) but, because I speak a little Spanish I was able to convince him to feed my starving family of 6. We ordered a little bit of everything and nothing went to waste but, in all, I would say it was just OK. The Chicken Mole was particularly disappointing because it was really Red Curry. If you’ve ever had real Mole, the flavors are completely different and it was like expecting an apple and getting an onion. The Enchiladas were good, I liked the tomatillo sauce, but generally speaking the experience was just average. Good Mexican food for Tokyo, but just average for anywhere Mexican...
