Do you remember the first time you fell in love? I do. There are only a number of things in this world i truly love. My wife, my dog, my family and friends and coffee.

I have been living in Tokyo and been blessed to have an amazing group of friends which have guided me to the most amazing experiences I have ever had in my life. I was first introduced to this cafe a few years ago by a close friend; he said to me "Just go to pretty things and you will understand why it is the best coffee shop in Tokyo"

I went to the shop by myself and it was love at first sight. Just like the perfect date; everything clicked. The music, the coffee, the atmosphere and the location all blended in perfectly to something that I like to call my favourite cafe in the world.

This cafe is very special to my wife and I - As it was the place that I asked her to Marry me. We live in a crazy world, where it is easy to miss out on the beautiful things that happen every day; sometimes it's important to know that there is always something for everyones taste, and I have found that with Pretty Things. Everything works - The coffee is amazing, the music is on point and the interior is charming, relaxing and cool.

Coffee was stale. Cookies are thin and hard. Then after ordering 3 coffees in total as I was working, the owner rudely approached waving his hand across his face as if I smelled bad to inform me without any sense of decency “long time no stay.”

After packing my things to leave, I approached him outside to ask why it was necessary to RUDELY force me out (with 5 tables open) after spending 2000 yen. Not only did he ignore me and not make eye contact, he began puffing on his cigarette to express his indifference.

2021年10月来訪。移転後店舗のレビューとその下に3年前に投稿した旧店舗のレビューを載せています。

旧店舗から246方面に少しだけ進んだ同じ駒沢公園通り沿いに今年移転しました。以前より広くなってソファも追加されています。 旧店舗には購入可能な様々な雑貨が置かれておりましたが、新店舗はかなりすっきりさせてグッズはTシャツやパーカ、お店でも使用しているマグカップなどがちらっと並んでいます。雑貨を減らして広々感が更に強まりオシャレな友達のお家に遊びに来たような雰囲気があります。しかも上記のソファがまたイイ！長めの3人掛けかな、ローソファで、それを土足で腰掛けられる雰囲気はアメリカっぽいなあと感じます(勿論土足だから汚さないようにね！)。 店外では以前同様喫煙可能でここも旧店舗と同じです。喫煙スポットが更に減らされた駒沢において愛煙家にはこれだけでも訪れる価値アリかと思います。 コーヒーは相変わらず税込400円からあり気軽に楽しめます。ハンドドリップで淹れてくれるコーヒーはあっさりしており飲みやすいです。支払いは現時点で現金とクレカのみだそうです。コロナ禍の昨今、PayPayなどのスマホ決済にも対応してくれたら嬉しいなあ！ お手洗いは一室アリ。駒沢公園のお手洗いは外から丸見えの所が多い上に虫に刺される可能性もあるので、立ち寄ったらこちらを利用されるのが良いかと思います。 気軽にオシャレなお店でコーヒーを飲みたい時に最適なお店です。新たにDJブースも設置されて音響にも拘っているので、その辺りに注目しても楽しそうです。

2000年頃に興ったカフェブームの起源であり駒沢を代表するカフェ、バワリーキッチンをプロデュースした方が始めたコーヒースタンドです。 手作り感溢れるウッディな小さい店内には数席と外にスツールとカウンター、細長い腰掛けがあり外では喫煙が可能。下の写真の通り色んな小物やTシャツ、レコードが販売されていて特にネコ推しなので至る所にネコグッズが(ニャー)。 あとマニアックな話ですが店内のBGMは売り物のレコードで、テクニクスのターンテーブルとUREI1620のミキサー、メーカーは忘れてしまいましたが評価の高いスピーカーとアンプを置いていてレコードマニアも楽しめます。BGMは70年代のUK...
