Three years living in Japan, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a restaurant this unhygienic. When I arrived, the chef asked me to wait outside while they “cleaned.” Upon re-entering, I saw bugs crawling on the table they had supposedly just cleaned. The seat was also covered with some kind of liquid—oil, water, or who knows what. What’s worse, the staff clearly saw me using napkins to clean it myself and didn’t offer any help or even an apology. That alone is worth a one-star review.
The food itself was extremely mediocre. The ramen broth was overly greasy, and the flavor was flat. Halfway through my meal, a huge bug jumped onto the table next to me. Again, the staff saw this and did absolutely nothing. Later, the same customer told the chef he had found something in his soup. I couldn’t hear what it was due to the noise, but the chef casually said he’d make another bowl, and that was it.
To top it all off, there was a handwritten note taped to the ticket machine saying customers are “strictly forbidden” from leaving food unfinished. That kind of message is incredibly off-putting—especially coming from a place with such poor hygiene and underwhelming food. If the food isn’t good, the customer absolutely has the right not to finish it.
Overall, a hugely disappointing experience. Poor hygiene, unresponsive staff, and unimpressive food. Won’t be...
Read moreRamen Miura was a popular Ramen shop and there were about 10 people in line when we arrived. We bought our food tickets first and waited. After about 20 minutes, we were asked to come in and our our ramen arrived in about 3 minutes. I ordered the top ramen and half a bowl of rice, and I choose my preferences were normal such as soup thickness, noodle firm and oil quantities. The spinach was tasty with a nice chewy texture. The egg had no peculiar smell at all, which gave a good impression. The chashu pork is cooked just the right time and taste is almost perfect. The soup is very salty as the shop mentioned it. I had rice wrapped with Nori for the first time and it was delicious. The noodles are not particularly unique, but they are delicious. It was a very good ramen restaurant.
And the attitude of the all the staff were just GREAT, very friendly.I wanna...
Read moreOver my 3 months in Japan I ate a lot of ramen and I think this was my favorite bowl of the trip. You can specify the amount of oil, thickness of soup and the firmness of the noodle. I think going with the normal recommendation is the way to go. This was my introduction to iiekei ramen and I fell in love with this style after my first bowl. I ended up returning here for my last meal right before I left because I enjoyed it so much. Its one of the rare stores that is worth an hour or more wait. The staff are also really friendly and I was thankful for that and their great attitudes made the ramen taste even better. I'm looking forward to my...
