SHUNKA Shinjuku Higashiguchi — Restaurant in Tokyo

This was my first time having dinner with friends here and I can tell that we were so disappointed with this restaurant. We reserved the table for the All you can eat and drink campaign from a 4000 yen discount to 3000 yen at hot pepper (ホットペッパーグルメ)

At first, the campaign said that we have 3 hrs to have dinner with this campaign. The truth is you can have food for only 2 hrs and drink for 3 hrs. And the last order is 30 mins before the times up. My friend and I are still ok with this campaign. When the order comes up, the food and beverages are fine but when you order the second or third time all food and beverages taste has changed all the time. It is like a lucky draw. And sometimes the order had missing or failed. So we need to order again and again by asking the waiter. And the waiter's attitude is bad too.

Second, The Atmosphere. At first, it looks good. My friend and I are ok with loud talking noise from other customers. But we were disappointed with our table cuz it is like sharing with another customer group by having a curtain separating our groups. When another group is walking or passing by the curtain is always open all the time. It is annoying.

Last, The Service. At first quite looks good because all waiters that we met are foreigners that can speak Japanese "BUT" the service was not good. Cuz our waiters who had come to serve us cannot understand the Japanese language well enough. Then he went to talk with his boss. I think the man that he talks to is a manager here. Cuz he's old and can speak Japanese but he is not polite to us at all. The manager came to our table after we had dinner for only 1 hr. He said, "Your table all-you-can-eat and drink campaigns were nearly timed up. You needed to order the last order". Then my friends and I check the time that we came in here is 18:10 so our last food order should be 19:40. And the beverage campaign should be 20:40. So we told him that he is misunderstood. Then he went back and checked it again but didn't come to say apologies for his wrong. Then when the time was up he came again and asked about our last order. When we said we were done with it. He just went back and brought the receipt and put it on the table to us and told us that we needed to pay 16,500 yen cuz they have a service charge of 300 yen per person. But his attitude looks like he needs to kick us out of the store ASAP even though our table still has 30 mins left.

This will be my first and last time having dinner here. I do not...

Bad food and bad service Even they say you can sit for 2 hours or 3hours, just minus by 30minutes because they will come at you saying time is up even we still have time left.

Food was ok when we first arrived but next serving, the taste keep going downhill

frozen sushi rice, very crispy feel like either uncook or it is straight out of the fridge..

Give me totally wrong drink but very firm that it is right… i m ordering gin lime, gin tonic then gin lime again. First two orders was fine, but last one i got pure gin in smaller glass. We tasted and there was no lime in it.

We complain but they just lie in straight face to us that it is just different glass and if we want bigger glass we should order gin tonic….what(?) Forgot to put lime and just try to avoid the subject??

this place doesn't have AC. the service was below average for japanese standarts. e. g. when i asked if they have all-you-can-drink they said no even though in japanese the menu offered it (blue in the picture). all the set menus were only in japanese but the other menu waa bilingual.

the drink i got had much alcohol but a bitter taste like medicine, so i couldn't drink more than two sips (otherwise I'm okay with 5+ drinks per hour). the food was okay. also it seemed that the staff (all non-japanese during my visit) were more friendly to japanese guests.

also there is a 10% service fee not mentioned in the menu (fine but intransparent, yellow in the picture)

so as a japanese this place ia fine. as a foreigner i wouldn't...
