My husband and I stayed at Hotel Enmichi for about 1 week while we searched for an apartment in the area. It was a very pleasant stay! The staff was incredibly sweet and patient with us, and very helpful as well. The rooms were clean, the wifi was good, and the food at the hotel was very tasty. There was a large TV in our room where you could watch local channels, as well as cast your own favorite media via Netflix, YouTube, etc. Laundry was available on site, and soap was dispensed by the machine, which was pretty cool. There are also lots of affordable options for food and activities near the hotel. It's very convenient! Our level of Japanese was enough to converse with the staff, but there were plenty of instructions and the like written in English. I don't think it would be too difficult if you can't speak much or any Japanese. Though of course, it's always polite to at least learn a few phrases before coming to a foreign country.
If you are coming from outside of Japan and have never been to a hotel here, they are notoriously small. Enmichi's rooms are indeed small, so be prepared for that if you are traveling with large suitcases. My room did have space under the bed though, which helped with that issue. I also found the bed to be VERY firm, but even though I didn't like the bed, I do not want to lower the rating because my husband LOVED the bed. It's all about your own preference, but for those who enjoy soft beds, be warned!
Overall our stay at Hotel Enmichi was excellent. The price was very affordable, and I highly...

The interior decor is nice and chique. Everything in the room is brand new and clean. The room itself is pretty small (14 sqm) but bearable for one night and the price you pay. Luckily no one was staying next to me so it was quiet but when I walked in the hallway I could hear people's voices from other rooms so believe walls are pretty thin. The TV was big and had Netflix and YouTube (need to sign in...
Read moreThe best thing about this hotel is its location: 5 min walk from Kawasaki train station, and great area. But unfortunately I don't really like the hotel...Room is small as usual, and there is no place to put your clothes, but it is not an issue. The problem is the lack of cleanliness: I found a lot of hair on the floor in the room and in the bathroom, dust in the corners and near the bed...seems that they have problems with housekeeping or, maybe, their housekeepers do not use vacuum cleaners? The lobby area is too small in my opinion. No...
