Not sure I should add this preface to my review... It's based on a discussion I had after lunch with an old friend who lives nearby. She has noticed this new restaurant but thinks it isn't busy because they aren't friendly enough and the main thing that would help them would be a female waitress. I think the location is a problem (in contrast to busy Dhaba near Tokyo Station) and the counter seats (most of them) don't favor groups. Now here's the original review: Initial reaction to call it a low four stars for a couple of minor problems. I like the atmosphere and the menu, and there was a special menu for Mother's Day, if a bit expensive and heavy. There was no ice coffee, and I prefer a regular lunch menu even on a weekend. Very authentic South Indian staff, but seems to lack a certain smoothness as a new restaurant. A bit of confusion about the Wi-Fi. A lot of counter space biases it against groups. I also found the name of the restaurant confusingly generic. I thought the food was quite good, but a bit hard for me to evaluate since it was so far from my usual selection. I recognized a spicy vegetable curry and of course the long grain rice. I especially liked a kind of fluffy bean dish. The corn mixed with coconut did not appeal to me too much. On my final evaluation I'll stay with the low four stars. If I get to come back for a regular lunch I think I'm likely to raise it.

This is the genuine article, the real McCoy. I've traveled around India and had many a dosa, talis, and other dishes. This Masala Dosa brought me right back to DelhI and Mumbai. If you've had Dosa in India you know what I'm talking about if not, you should visit and order their masala dosa. Next I'll have the tandoori chicken and butter Nan. Can't wait!

Really satisfying south indian food and wonderful hospitality. Very close to kyodo station. A good selection of dosas, vada, and all other delicious dishes that you don't find in regular indian restaurants in Japan. The portions are also quite filling. Authentic taste of South India. Will definitely be going back!
