TLDR: Loved the sushi, would recommend.
Full version: Great tiny little neighborhood sushi place run by an elderly couple. The husband makes the sushi and the wife takes care of the customers. I don’t speak Japanese so I just went in with my smartphone and google translate, asked for takeout, and we did fine :) The wife is so sweet! While I waited for the sushi she pulled out a chair and brought me a glass of ice cold tea (it’s blazing hot out). I asked about wasabi; apparently they put wasabi on the rice in the nigiri. I mentioned my husband really likes wasabi, although my favorite is the pickled ginger. She said something to her husband, and he put extra wasabi in one tray and handed her the jar of ginger so she could give me an extra portion of that! And let me tell you, you don’t get pickled ginger like that in the US. I ate every last slice! The fish was perfectly fresh and delicious; I didn’t ask what they all were because I knew it would all be good, but I’m certain squid, shrimp, salmon roe, tamago omelet, and tuna were involved.
