TLDR: Loved the sushi, would recommend. Full version: Great tiny little neighborhood sushi place run by an elderly couple. The husband makes the sushi and the wife takes care of the customers. I don’t speak Japanese so I just went in with my smartphone and google translate, asked for takeout, and we did fine :) The wife is so sweet! While I waited for the sushi she pulled out a chair and brought me a glass of ice cold tea (it’s blazing hot out). I asked about wasabi; apparently they put wasabi on the rice in the nigiri. I mentioned my husband really likes wasabi, although my favorite is the pickled ginger. She said something to her husband, and he put extra wasabi in one tray and handed her the jar of ginger so she could give me an extra portion of that! And let me tell you, you don’t get pickled ginger like that in the US. I ate every last slice! The fish was perfectly fresh and delicious; I didn’t ask what they all were because I knew it would all be good, but I’m certain squid, shrimp, salmon roe, tamago omelet, and tuna were involved. If you are a connoisseur perhaps you can id it from my photo. I got the mid-range nigiri option.

Friendly old couples selling sushi and definitely worth a visit. The shop is quite small since people usually come here to pack the food. You can get other menu from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and you can get sushi the whole day. They close it on Wednesday and you can get ¥1000 for sushi on Friday. My favourite spot for lunch and dinner.

It's pretty close to ICU. I can feel the owner's reputation. His fishes were extremely fat and thick. I was full and well impressed:

This is a tiny, neighborhood sushi place run by a husband and wife pair who are extremely accommodating and friendly. The sushi is good and the price can’t be beat. It’s like visiting a homey old pub around the corner. A very short walk from the Observatory. Well worth it if you’re...
