Such a beautiful cafe. Wow! The design and color was so amazing. The food were great too. We ordered the Cheese Toast, Chocolate Terrine Bitter and Hot Latte. The bread on the toast was so good. It was worth the trip.

隈研吾氏設計の店舗は、外観、内装共に素晴らしかったです。外観の銅板も1年近く経過し、緑青が濃くなって、ますます深みがました感じがしました。 カフェオレとチーズトーストを注文。 チーズトーストは、すじ青のりが載っていて、海苔の香りが香ばしく、美味しかったです。すじ青のりにも驚きましたが、それ以上に驚いたのが、トーストに使われているパン。表面がパリッとサクサク。中はふわっとしっとり。小麦の甘味を感じて美味しかった。食べ終わってわかったのですが、表面のパリパリのパンくずがほぼ落ちていませんでした。なぜだろう？と考えたら、他のパンより表面の皮の部分が異常に薄いかったです。 写真で見てもわかりますが、この薄さが食べやすさと美味しさに繋がっています。 店員さんが教えてくれたのですが、八坂駅に近くの「MAU PAN」(まうぱん)さんのパンを使っているとの事でした。美味しい人気のお店なので、興味があったら、是非、行ってみて下さいとオススメされました。 後で和國商店カフェのホームページをよく確認したら、カフェで使っている食材は、殆ど東村山近辺のお店から仕入れた物を使っていました。本業のウチノ板金の宣伝の意味もあるとは思いますが、地域の活性化を目的としているんだなぁと感じました。 また、朝活で朝食を食べに来ようと思います。
