This was a store i wanted to visit as it is close to my workplace in Toyocho, Koto ku. After checking which were the best ramen stores in this area, Yamaguchi came up and was reviewed on ramen adventures website and some Youtube videos. Mabo Mazesoba- The menu and style interested me as i love spicy and Chinese flavors. This is a different style of ramen. The noodles are covered in a delicious miso spicy paste. The premium bowl is a little pricy at 1,500¥. But, i think it’s worth it, if you want to experience it for the first time. The combination of pork was absolutely delicious. The coriander, gives a fresh and clean taste to the bowl. The noodle are thick and chewy, and once the poached egg added gives a nice dimension of taste. The spice isn’t too strong, but you can add extra spice. The amount is filling, but! If you buy a bowl of rice 120¥, you add it to the stock left over from the ramen! It makes it into a delicious rice meal! Which adds a new dimension of taste. Hmnn, i think this should be included in the meal price. From seeing the comments here… as always, ramen is always a subjective opinion. Staff were friendly and talkative. For people complaining about how spicy it is… i don’t really understand why?! If you knew the store style sells spicy ramen, why eat it? If you don’t like spice? Go to another store. Why give a 1 star rating based on your lack of knowledge prior to eating. But anyway, for any tourists coming. Definitely check this place out! The ordering system is a ticket, and fairly easy to get seated and...

Review of Ramen Yamaguchi Ratsushiki
The other night, I visited "Ramen Yamaguchi Ratsushiki" on my way home from work, conveniently located just a 1-minute walk from Toyocho Station. It was a pleasant surprise that I could enter without any wait despite it being evening.
The interior consists of counter seats only making it compact, but it has a clean and relaxed atmosphere. Since it wasn't busy that day, I could enjoy my ramen in a quiet environment. I was impressed by the staff's polite service.
After some deliberation, I ordered the "Mabo Mazesoba" (Spicy Minced Meat Mixed Noodles). I chose regular spiciness, but it was nice to know it could be adjusted to preference.
After waiting about 5 minutes, the vibrantly red mazesoba appeared. When I mixed it all together, the aroma of Sichuan pepper immediately spread. With my first bite, the numbing spiciness and deep umami flavors intertwined in my mouth, making me involuntarily exclaim "Wow!" at how delicious it was.
The medium-thick noodles had just the right springiness, and mixed with the meat miso-like toppings, remained enjoyable until the very last bite. I started sweating partway through, but there's plenty of umami within the spiciness, so anyone who doesn't totally dislike spicy food should be able to enjoy it.
Being close to the station makes it easy to stop by on your way home. If you aim for less busy hours, you can enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace.
I would especially recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique ramen experience in the Toyocho area or to spicy food lovers. Next time, I'd like to try their salt-based ramen as...
Read moreHad wanted to go for awhile after finding it on the Michelin website. Everything met my expectations for good ramen.
I had the shio ramen and rice set, 1030 yen. The soup of the ramen was delicate and crisp. I could tell everything was fresh and 'real' in the sense nothing tasted unnatural about it. Noodles were a great consistency as well.
Waited approx 15 minutes before entering, bought meal tickets at a vending machine. For non-Japanese speakers, at the time of my visit I don't recall seeing any English on the vending machine, but I'm sure the staff or someone else waiting would be happy to...
