I’ll give two stars for the proportion and the pricing as those were great. Most of the food was actually really yummy, the don and the butter scallops were so great!
Two points I want to highlight though why my rating is low on this place.
Firstly my daughter thought the salmon was too salty and my BBQ mackerel was charred black on the skin, sadly quite a bit of it tasted charred.
Secondly, and that is really a big issue for me, the lady chef or cook (I’m not sure) was either in a really bad mood today, or may need a moment of self reflection on how to make her customers feel comfortable. We were seated at the front, every time the door opened a wave of -5 degrees cold air came rushing over our us, so I asked to be moved to the back, which had free seats. There was no food on our table that time so the request was reasonable. The staff came to tell us we couldn’t move table. I stood up to ask the one who was giving the instructions from the kitchen (a lady in glasses who was standing behind the grill) and she flat out refused us moving and made gestures with our order slip and kept saying no no no, then slammed the order slip on the desk and turned around… she reacted like a spoiled princess from an anime. 🙄 the manners on this “lady”. I’ve went back to my seat, but the temper of that cook was very unpleasant and really quite ruined my...

We weren’t allowed in during heavy rain despite the restaurant was 80% empty. We tried to stay inside but got told off and had to wait under heavy rain for 20 mins. A old Japanese lady tried to come in after us and got told off as well, don’t think the staff cares about their customers.
The food was half good half bad, tuna and surf clam was nice, but sweet srimps, king fish and uni was very disappointing.
I am not sure what the hype was for the restaurant. 2/10 would...
Read moreUokin Shokudo. Came here on the 30 October, an hour closing time. Hokkigai curry has sold out, so opt for the choose 4 toppings seafood bowl consisting of Hokki clam, crab legs, sweet shrimp and scallops. It was delicious. Generous portion. Seafood was fresh and hokki clam was abundant. The crab legs were sweet, loved it. Sweet shrimp was also sweet and tasty. Price was quite reasonable compared to places in Sapporo City or Otaru. Service was good. Forgot take pictures of the actual bowl, was...
