I first heard of T’s back in January or February of this year, but unfortunately they were closed around that time when I was here. I got a chance to chat with the owner during lunch - and it turns out that he has quite a pedigree training with some of TX’s top BBQ chefs, including 1 that made this years famous Texas Monthly Top 10.
IYKYK. I sometimes travel around TX for work, and consider myself to be somewhat of a connoisseur of TX style BBQ. Mr T’s brisket is right up there with the best in the state and I’m not just saying that to be nice.
The venture from Shinjuku took nearly 3 hours by train/walking but it was well worth it, and I will go back for sure.
I had a large sandwich with fries. I don’t think he cut it fresh to serve… but whatever he’s doing to hold the brisket at temp.., he’s doing it quite well.
I think he made my sandwich with a mix of lean and fatty cuts. The large sandwich had every bit of 10oz plus of meat. I was getting full at the 1/2 way mark, but I did manage to finish the whole meal.
The meal was a bit pricey, but it’s right on par with TX premium spot BBQ prices.

Read moreTakeshi-San is what you call a shokunin, an artisan who is committed to absolute mastery of his skill in BBQ. In America we just say “he’s a Badass!“💪 You could search all of Japan and never eat a better brisket than at T’s BBQ. You can even choose your grade of moisture from AA (super moist) all the way to burnt ends. This puts him in a class of his own. Even in America you just order brisket and hope it’s good. T’s is worth making a pilgrimage to. If you’re in Narita area, you have to go here. For Americans, Bring him your USD! He’s visiting his sensei in Texas soon, help him with his trip. I told him he has to visit Franklin BBQ in Austin.
T is the real deal, high level BBQ shokunin and he wears a Kobashi studio key ring so we know he’s OK 👌 🤠 I feel honored to have found this place and will always visit when I land at Narita. Thank you Takeshi San for best BBQ outside of Texas and for making me feel welcome...
Read moreAt first when I saw the site on Google map I thought it looked a bit junky being made up of old shipping containers, but when we arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was actually quite quaint with different coloured containers for each shop, public toilets, a good access road and parking plus a small outdoor eating area in the centre.
We went there for lunch today and ordered the Texas BBQ plate from T's Texas BBQ. It featured brisket, pulled pork and sausage and also included a very tasty tacos, a hamburger bun and some potato salad, some jalapenos and pickles.
The owner was very friendly and always spoke in English with us. He told us that he will be going back to Texas for some more authentic food training early next year, so his skill might be even better after he returns. (If that is possible, because he is already very good)!
We really enjoyed our lunch. Thank...
