Stopped at Satokura Café for some lunch. The staff were so friendly and fluent in English, with great stories and happy to recommend things to do on the island! The renovated barn is modern and stylish while also holding onto a lovely traditional charm , and the much-needed AC was a lifesaver! They were serving coffee, homemade sodas, and cakes, and everything had a thoughtful, homemade touch. I was craving a proper lunch, and as a vegetarian in Japan, that’s not always easy but the staff went out of their way to accommodate me. They pulled together a delicious plate of potato gnocchi with fresh herbs and tomato sauce, plus a side of a potato and a cucumber salad. It was exactly what I needed — fresh, flavourful, and delicious! Highly recommend stopping by if you're on Teshima!

A wonderful addition to Teshima, book in if you are able to stay on-island for dinner! We were one of only two tables in the large converted barn that is the restaurant the night we were there, practically private dining. The kaiseke had just the right number of courses, built on Seto island ingredients, including perch sashimi and olive-fed Wagyu to grill on your own small hibachi. Very hospitable welcome; one of the restaurateurs even drove us over when they found out we were lodged a bit far from center. A lovely evening after a day of art.

I saw this place in Google yesterday and it looked beautful, let me tel you IT IS the restaurant is so cute and pretty we ate sushi, soup and muffins, everything is verry good. The service is nice they talk english wich is dificult to find in here, so it was refreshing that we understood each other perfect. (English is not my first language but it helps) We got to meet the owners they are so nice. I fore sure would recomend this place. Aldo they have Airbnb’s so looked they up ig you want to stay here.

We stayed several nights on the Island and had the opportunity to enjoy Satokura’s dinner menu twice. The first starter « tapas » were a variation of different creations from the talented chef. The sashimi was from freshly caught local fish. The tempura was crisp and delicate made with the freshest seasonal local vegetables, you could tell it was lightly fried in clean oil and had a non-greasy finish. The wagyu beef was very tender and melted in the mouth. The deserts , one night ice cream mochi and the second night a Japanese twist of cheesecake were delicious. These were by far the best meals we experienced in Japan. The service and atmosphere really added to the nice experience. I can highly recommend...

I have the honor of being the first to post a review so it’s a heavy responsibility!! I had no idea what I was stepping into with little indications and only a few photos online, but I was pleased to discover a cosy cafe which is ideal for an afternoon snack and rest before heading to the last chunk of the art visit and back to the port. They opened doors only a few weeks ago so everything is still brand new! Akane was incredibly friendly and the coffee and snack were exactly what I needed. I wish I could have stayed for the dinner set menu that looks fantastic with locally sourced ingredients but sadly I had to head back. Now that’s another reason to...
