Kaiten Sushi Hokkaido - Ekinan — Restaurant in Tottori

People said this is the the best conveying belt sushi restaurant in Tottori, as seafood here is freshly delivered from sakaiminato everyday and sold in reasonable prices. It’s very popular. During dining hours, even on weekdays, waiting should be expected. I went there on a Sunday night at 7pm and waited for 55 minutes before got seated.

The waiting system is a bit challenging for non-Japanese speakers. We need to first get a number at the front desk and then a lady will call your number in Japanese when your table is ready. Thank God the lady at the front desk was very friendly. I showed her the number and where I stood, and asked her to remind me when my number was reached. And she did.

The food was good, in terms of taste and freshness. However, many items were sold out. It will be great if there are more varieties, not just salmon and tuna most of the time.

I’d highly recommend visiting one of this chain’s conveyer belt sushi restaurants if you are near one. My group ate dinner at this chain on two consecutive nights because we enjoyed it so much. Shockingly affordable prices especially compared to Tokyo but not at all lacking in quality. Lines are so long! I visited on Monday (just regular weekday) and the waiting list had to be finished at 7:45pm because there were too many people waiting. The food was great. Beware: No touch-screen menus that offer different languages and images of the dishes. I say visit this place when in the city of Dottori. Also, walk about 5 mins after meal to Don Quixote nearby.
