It has been a super nice experience to meet such sweet owls! I did not know they were so soft. The lady there was super nice. I recommend this place if you have the chance!

茨城で唯一のふくろう専門店。 梟やミミズクが好きで、触れ合いが好きな人こそ満足できると思います。 60分大人1200円子供800円(ドリンクバー付き) 12時～オープンします。 民家の敷地内のため、駐車場が狭いので気をつけてください。 入れる定員は8名。ネットか電話での事前予約がオススメ。 カフェではないので、食べ物はありません。 触れる梟は大きいです。でも大人しいので、怖がらず接してあげてください。 写真OKですが、フラッシュ厳禁です。梟が失明してしまいます。 猛禽類なので、嘴や爪は他の鳥より鋭いです。 鳥の触れ合いに慣れてない人は、夏でも長袖の着用をお勧めします。 (もちろん手に乗せる専用の手袋は用意してくれてます) 1羽ずつ個性や特徴があるので、オーナー様の紹介を聞いてから戯れてください。色々なお話が聞けるし、大切に飼育されてるのがわかります。 予想以上に、様々な梟やミミズクと自由に戯れることができて、60分はあっという間でした。 ふわふわの羽が気持ち良くて、まん丸な目も可愛くて、とても楽しかったです。 是非また伺いたいです。

つくばにある、ふくろうカフェ。 都内に行かずとも地元にあることに驚く。 民家の敷地内に作られた小屋のような印象。 砂利の駐車場で、10台分くらいはあるか。大きな車で行くより、コンパクトカーでの訪問が楽である。 建物の入り口にはインターホンがあり、いきなり開けて入らないことになっている。 インターホンを鳴らすと少し時間を置いて店員さんが応答し、中に誘導される。 入り口で殺菌済のスリッパに履き替え、手荒いと手指消毒を済ませ、ふくろうについての取り扱い事項について説明をうける。 店内は広くはなく、真ん中にテーブルと椅子が置いてあり、それを囲むように３辺にふくろうがバーにとまっており、残り１辺はドリンクコーナや手洗い場が配置されている。 厳密に言うと、フクロウ、ミミズク、コノハズクの三種類がおり、触れるもの、手にのせられるものなどが区別されている。 日本には生息しない種がおり、フラッシュをたかなければ写真撮影は自由となっている。 ここでの主役は鳥たちのため、ルールに則って楽しむ形となっている。 カフェというよりも、ふれあいを重視したものであり、飲み物は飲まなくても平気だったりする。 時期によってひなの販売もされており、鑑賞だけてはなく、ブリーダーとの仲介的な役割も果たしている。 頻回には訪問できないが、非日常的な体験をするにはよい場所。ふくろうに触れられるのは貴重な体験であり、気になる方は一度訪問することをおすすめする。 お値段は初回一時間1200円。２回...
