This is a very good sushi place. I recommend sitting at the counter, so one can see the chefs, or as the Japanese say, "itamae-san" (direct translation: "the person in front of the cutting-bard") They have some English in the menu, the chef also spoke a bit English, and the fish is fresh... some are still swimming. The preeminent sushi experience in Tsuwano, and one of the only dining options open after 9 pm, Fukuzushi is an absolute must for any visitor. Run by generations of the Sushi-master Nagamine family, it is some of the freshest sushi I’ve had outside of Tokyo.

I really enjoyed my dinner at Fukuzushi. The owners were lovely people. We had a great conversation in my broken Japanese and they were very accommodating. The nigiri and tuna rolls were delicious and the prices were very reasonable, especially for how tasty everything was.
