Shasaian Hirashio — Restaurant in Yahiko

Probably the most trafficked souvenir shop in all of Yahiko. The store has a little bit of everything, and is conveniently placed at the intersection facing the main Yahiko shrine gate entrance. If you want to buy a Yahiko souvenir, either food, alcohol, or some small knick knack for a friend or relative, this store is super easy for that. It’s also got perishable food for snacks for yourself to enjoy, and a lot of them are rabbit themed snacks in homage to the Yahiko shrine. I have a bad habit of buying these 500¥ soft serves wherever I go so I've had a fair few of them in my travels here so far but I have to say this is probably the favourite of the bunch. Hard to pinpoint what exactly is so good about it but it just has a nice delicate taste, not super milky nor sweet, everything's just nice.

彌彦神社を訪れた際に、鳥居のすぐそばに佇む趣のあるカフェを発見。古民家を改装したような風格ある外観が目を引き、参拝後のひとときを過ごすのにぴったりだと感じて入店しました。

店内は１階が土産店で２階がカフェ。木の温もりを感じる落ち着いた空間が広がっており、歴史を感じさせる造りながら、程よく手が加えられた清潔感のあるインテリアが好印象。静かにくつろげる雰囲気です。

窓から見える社の鳥居を眺めながらメニューを拝見。店員さんは物腰柔らかで、静かな雰囲気に合った落ち着いた接客をしてくれました。

「ゴマのチーズケーキセット／780円」

運ばれてきたチーズケーキ。表面はしっとりと艶があり、一口食べると、濃厚なチーズのコクとゴマの風味が絶妙にマッチ。甘さ控えめで大人向けの味わいです。しっとりした食感が心地よい。添えられた生クリームと合わせると、よりマイルドな口当たりになります。

ドリンクはストレートティーを選択。渋みの少ない紅茶で、後味がすっきりしており、チーズケーキの濃厚さを引き立ててくれます。ポットサービスではないものの、一杯でも十分に満足できる味わいでした。

静かで落ち着いた雰囲気の中、美味しいスイーツと紅茶を味わいながら、ゆったりとした時間を過ごせました。神社のすぐそばという立地も魅力的で、参拝後の休憩スポットとして最適。...
