Fledged Burger — Restaurant in Yamagata

The burgers might be great but the service needs to be improved. We went for lunch on a Monday and it was crowded. We reached around 12:20 pm and were second in line for the table waiting. So we decided takeaway will be faster and convenient. We placed order for takeaway and made the payment. After orders placed and payment completed we were told it will take 40 mins and to leave our contact number and they will call when order is ready. I think it’s a little polite to Inform before taking order and payment that it would take 40 mins that way we could decide to order or leave. 40 mins wait was still ok with us as we drove all the way from tsuruoka which is 1.5 hours away. we decided we will walk around the area and come back after 40 mins to pickup our burgers. We come back at 1pm and waited another 10 mins and no call and asked the cashier/owner if the orders are ready. The cashier says it will take another 15 mins because he’s getting a lot of calls. We asked if it will be ready for sure in another 15 mins which makes our wait for over 1 hour just for 2 basic burger takeaway. His reply was sorry we don’t know if it will take longer and that we can get refund because we are putting pressure on them by asking if it will be ready in the next 15 mins.

Really pressure on them? After waiting over an hour for takeaway we are the ones putting pressure? I’m sorry but that reply was very unprofessional for any service industry. Anyway we took our refund and left. We were not impolite with them. we just asked that it’s over an hour since we ordered and if there’s any chance for it to be ready in the additional 15 mins that...
