This place sucks. They had an entire open counter and stuck me next to two extremely obnoxious, screaming people. I asked to be moved and they refused to let me sit on the other side of the counter, which was entirely empty. This all happened in Japanese, this wasn’t a communication issue or something. Being literally underneath the tracks of Japan’s ugliest Shinkansen station should have been a sign to keep walking. I had to ask them for water, they didn’t bring it or asked me what I wanted to drink when I gave them my food order. My extremely simple order of beef and rice took forever (the restaurant wasn’t full). The most hilarious part was that they didn’t serve it on a plate, they served it on some idiotic platter that was an inch wide and probably 12 inches long which made it impossible to eat it without spilling it everywhere. We ordered a sirloin steak and a Bolognese. About 5-10 minutes later they told us the Bolognese was sold out, so we chose a different dish. Eventually the steak arrived, but the second dish, even though it was nothing difficult to make only arrived more than 10 minutes later which resulted in only one person eating at the same time.. Unprofessional. 👎 I also ordered an Grapefruit juice. The taste was barely existent even before the ice melted and was more like apple juice. Anything fruit really but grapefruit. After the ice melted it was basically just sweetened water.. Not okay. 👎 The staff was kind but could not speak any English, which I guess is okay since we're in Japan. The overall atmosphere was decent to good, definitely not the worst I've seen so far in Japan.

Because of the situation with the food and the bad drink our excitement somewhat died and we left...

The smiles of the manager and the staff are wonderful. I had the 2,980? course, and all of the food was delicious. The manager is energetic and pleasant, and very relaxing. It gets very busy, so I recommend making a reservation. The beer has amazing foam. For the first time only, there is a picture of Malt's drawn on the foam. They even saw me off with a smile when I left, and I'm really glad I came.
