inside the Shigakogen Roman Museum, right at the bus stop to the Snow Monkey Park, Crystal Terrace Café was an unexpected delight and 100% worth the visit while waiting for the bus. The couple who welcomed us embodied the true warmth and hospitality of Japan. The lady even gifted me a beautiful tsuru origami she had made, adding a special touch to the experience.
After enjoying our drinks, we were surprised with fresh, local apples, a gesture of genuine generosity we hadn't even asked for. It was these little moments that made Crystal Terrace feel like a hidden gem—a peaceful, heartwarming stop amidst our journey. Read moreLuggage man is very grumpy and not welcoming when we arrived. Our hotel (unaffiliated with the luggage man) told us that we needed to go down in the morning to pay again to the luggage man since he charges by every 4 hours.. which we were not told he just said "luggage 1000" at 4pm on our arrival day and when we picked up this morning he charged an additional 2,000 yen...so 3,000 total for 1 suitcase and 1 backpack for less that 24 hrs. It didn't need to be so confusing. Edit: I'm adding a star as luggage man seemed sorry after I posted review and he gave us gifts...
Read moreIt's a "restaurant" nearby the last bus stop to go to the monkey park. They do everything the could to avoid customers; there are 4 or 5 signs saying that only customers can sit there, can use the bathroom but most services close very early (like luggage storage closes at 2 pm). Beverages are "served" from the machine and the food is mediocre. The guy asked to my japanese friend to translate in English all the signs (most of the translations were so bad they were impossible to understand or even wrong)....
