Maybe is a different culture system we have group of 6, and been waiting for over 2hours where as group of 2-4ppl who came later than us could enter earlier. They would not rearrange the sitting so we have to wait till the large table is available. We understand the over crowed due to its popularity maybe is better if they can just give us an estimated timing for waiting. service wise you can tell the waiters are very tired I don’t blame them. The actual uni don is very disappointed i don’t understand why the taste is so blank and not too fresh. I thought coming here I could taste the fresh uni, it’s not even better than the sea food don I had at 二條market，with the time driving and waiting and even for the taste i have to give it one star.

First of all, it’s not worth the price. The amount of sea urchin was much less than expected. The portion might look a lot in the picture, but it was just all rice underneath. Grilled sea urchin also tasted strange and miso soup was tasteless. Secondly, the service was very bad. The male waiter was super rude and treated foreigners and Japanese differently. There was no greetings towards foreigners and no water/tea served, while Japanese were served right away. If foreigners are not welcome, why wouldn’t you specify it at the entrance? Disappointing. There are much more better sea urchin places (and more foreigner friendly) at Shakotan.

I’ve always loved Japan and have visited countless times, but I had never tried “uni” (sea urchin) until now. The menu at this restaurant caught my attention, especially the section describing their uni dishes, which immediately piqued my interest. Without hesitation, I chose the “Uni and Eel Rice Bowl.” Honestly, it was incredibly fresh and delicious, just as the menu described: “The unique harmony of uni and eel in your mouth offers an unparalleled taste experience.” I truly enjoyed this restaurant — everything from the quality to the service was absolutely perfect!

One of their popular lunch sets is the 5-kind uni course, which lets you taste uni from different locations. The bowl typically includes both red and white uni. Overall, the taste is great, and the price is justified. Just keep in mind that the locations where the uni is caught can vary each time.

Visited Unino Yoichiya to try out their well-known 5 types of sea urchin rice set. It was ¥6,500 and came with crab miso soup. However, the sea urchin rice bowl was a lot smaller than I’ve expected therefore I do think it was overpriced. One thing to note is that even though it stated 5 types of sea urchin, but it was actually 4 types only. They repeated the one from Russia. If I ever revisit the restaurant, I will order just regular sea urchin rice, not the 5 types version for better value.

Went during Wed lunch and it wasn't crowded. Food was reasonably priced. 4,500¥ for the 5 types of bluefin tuna and uni bowl. 1,200¥ each for the cod and the mackerel set. All sets come with free flow rice and crab miso soup. You have the option of sushi rice or plain rice. Food was good. Uni was fresh and the mackerel was huge (more than 30cm long). For 1.2k, it was really value for money. Highly recommend if you're passing through. Free parking available
