2国と昭和坂の交わる交差点は北寺尾という。

北寺尾というのは、東寺尾があり、区をまたいで西寺尾があり、東寺尾にある松蔭寺に関係のある名前だと聞いた。

北寺尾の交差点に接してバス停があるが、こちらは名称を北寺尾別所という。中世の頃の豪族に関連しての名前ではなかったか。

この、交差点でいえば北寺尾、バス停であれば北寺尾別所、坂でいえば昭和坂に面してスターバックス横浜鶴見店はある。以前は北寺尾別所店といったようにも記憶しているが、ネット検索の対策であるのか、いまのような大味の店舗名にいつのまにか変更されていた。文句のひとつも言おうと思えば言えるが、容赦できる程度のことではある。つける文句も歴史をかなぐり捨てて、といった埒もあかないことで、いまさらのことだ。

坂といえば横浜は坂が多く、鶴見はわけても坂が多い。ひょっとすると横浜の全体よりも鶴見にある坂のほうがその数は多いのではあるまいかとさえ思われるほどだ。

鶴見駅からのぼってくる昭和坂に流れ込むようにして三つの坂がある。もちろんもっとあるがとりあえずこの三つを取り立てるのは、その名がどんぐりころころ坂、幸運坂、万蕾句吟坂というそれぞれに魅力的なものであるからだ。この坂のいずれかを通ってこの店に辿り着きたい場合、鶴見駅から来るものとすると、大坂をのぼってくる。やがて響橋が見えてくるのでその手前の任意の横道に折れるといずれ三つの坂のいずれかを下ることになる。
