KALIKA — Restaurant in Yokosuka

(11/10/2020) Tuesday lunch ... already four people/groups inside and two outside. Which means there were already quite a few cars packed into the little parking lot...! I asked how we should park and the waiter asked us to just park as far in as we could. That part was a bit tricky.... but after we ordered, our meals came in less than ten minutes. :) We got seats indoors because the outside seats are sadly smoking permitted... We could see the ocean from our seats though, the deep blue color a calming view. Two sleeping mini schnauzers in the adjacent room! We ordered the 900 yen dal curry and 1000 yen gyu suji beef sinew udon noodles. Husband really enjoyed the udon; it was our first time to have something like it at an “ethnic” curry shop. The dal curry was good; it had a gentle flavor, if that makes any sense. Naan was on the thinner, crispier side, which I also thought was kind of rare, but then again I’ve never been to India/Nepal, haven’t been to all the curry shops in the area, so idk. We ordered both curries medium spicy, but next time maybe we’ll have a bit more spiciness. When customers were leaving and coming in, we saw the waiter going outside to help them with their cars, even taking the wheel of one of the customers’ van to skillfully pull it in backwards. (Oh and he did have a mask on... just wanted to mention it since one review says he should be wearing one.)
