Marutsu Store — Restaurant in Yomitan

Parking is to the right of the establishment as you’re facing it.

Was a bit anxious to go inside, but I saw the order machine and knew what to do, bc a lot of places have that.

Anyway, my anxiety instantly went away when I walked in, and was greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. One of the chefs came to show me what to do from the English menu. I ordered, got some water and sat at the counter.

Each meal is prepared in an open kitchen and I like that. I think watching the chefs cook allows me to see the care they show each plate. And I have a bigger appreciation.

Anyway, I got my food and it was so pretty, smelled amazing …it was soooooo delicious 🤤 The broth was everything! I would have ordered more noodles, but they were closing soon and I didn’t want to be the one lol 😆

I initially wanted it to-go (they don’t do that), but I think it’s better enjoyed right after it’s prepared right!? So...

Everyone in the shop is passionate about music. I was alone and when I stepped in they mentioned that they are not serving ramen for the night. They kindly offered some other dishes and I had a great pizza with capsicum and pepperoni. The warmth of the hosts extended from the conversations to the food. The simple red and white wines were well selected. Good acidity to pair with robust ramen or the simple pizza I had. This place is a place to be at beyond having a quick meal. The owner has fitted sound proofing panels to ensure that their music jam sessions can be properly enjoyed by the guests. I put five stars because I can not put more. This place its absolutely insane, and after 3 weeks in Japan visiting all kind of places (some touristy, and others very local) I can say that this is one of the best ramens I have had. We went in just looking for a place to eat something quick, and we will be coming back for dinner. In particular, the meat has a differential flavour from everything else I have tried, in a busier area you would definitely queue for some time...
