During our week in Jersey we ate at Off the Rails three times; once for brunch and twice for dinner. For brunch my wife had the toasted banana bread with yogurt, dates and berries and I had the mushroom and spinach shakshuka; both were perfectly prepared and delicious. For our first dinner we had the squeaky greeky paired with two excellent generously sized cocktails; blueberry and rosemary g&t and caramel apple mule. The squeaky greeky was disappointing; dry and bland. It could have use a good sauce or would be better served as a wrap like the one we had Cafe Firefly at the Jersey Zoo or like the mooloumi burger we had at Plemont Bay Cafe. On our second dinner visit we shared four tapas; otr maple and chili walnuts, albondigas, patatas bravas and goat’s cheese pared with generous sized drinks; caramel apple mule and Campari Zing Zing. This was just the type of dinner we like; light and delicious. The atmosphere is informal. On all three occasions we found the service was super friendly. Our server on the three occasions was Natalie. She noticed our accents and asked us why we came to Jersey all the way from Boston, USA. When we told her that we were ardent supporters of Jersey Zoo, we struck up a wonderful conversation about Jeremy Mallinson, who ran the zoo for many years. This was a highlight of...
Read moreI love Philippine cuisine and my fiancé is Philippine so we decided to try out 3 course meal on Monday 22nd April 2024 for price per person 27.50 x 2
We had Boodle Fight sharing board which included the following:
Starter:
1 tapas plates with very average spring rolls and 1 tapas plate beef which was well cooked.
Main:
Plenty of plain rice, half boiled egg, 2 tiny peace’s of aubergine, I haven’t seen there any Whole Mackerel but only 2 tiny & overcooked fish fillets without skin, 2 steamed chicken wings, 2 tiny sausages, 2 small slices of water Mellon, 2 tasteless small slices pork belly, 4 tiny pieces of mussels in General it was clearly Very Low Budget Food with minimal amount of choice on the Plate and on top of everything for paying £55 the Main is maximum for 1 person ( clearly not for 2 adults )
Desert:
No comments: instead of actual cream just some white liquid tasted as Milk……,
That’s really shocking and unfair to the costumers to offer that type of dish and charging 10 times above the value.
Waiter were professional and very helpful and restaurant itself looked great.
We are Jersey Residents and that was definitely worst experience...
Read moreFound this absolute gem on the side of the railway walk a while back when it opened and thought it was about time to leave a review, I have been going in and out of this place for almost 6/7 years and have never had a disappointing experience. As a regular customer I have gotten to know the staff quite well and can see they’re all a big happy family who are proud of what they accomplish on a day to day basis. I have tried nearly everything on the menu and can say that the fiery pizza no.7 is one of my favourites due to the spicy Nduja they put on it, if you were to get tapas I’d recommend their delicious homemade croquettes and since opening their sister business Bad Boy Burger i have really been enjoying their selection of burgers but mostly the Smokey bandit as it has a really nice bacon relish. They use to have a Filipino night once in a while which was amazing and have done a few other pop ups throughout the years so if one comes about again I will definitely be booking in advance as it gets so busy! Highly recommend this cute little restaurant on...
