Barros' Tropical Bistro — Restaurant in St. Helier

It's 5+ years since I last came here, Something has changed. To be fair this visit was to collect a takeaway on a busy Thursday night just over a week before Christmas weekend. As the food was well over a half hour late arriving from the kitchen I had a lot of time to watch; There was not a smile on any of the staff's faces who were struggling to keep up, the kitchen staff were extremely busy too. One customer left complaining about the table of guys he was sat near who were fairly drunk and loudly offensive, the manageress looked but offered no apology and clearly didn't want to throw out the group of guys. The quality of the food seems to be lower than it was on my last visit...

Food here is amazing. They should deliver I would buy here more often. Thier collection service. Is crazy Seems very slow, with very little communication from the woman doing it, I think they do each food in turn rather than each customer order. I've been there the time they said to collect and waited well over half an hour, seen food waiting for a long time too for Thier last item of food. Alot of food must get cold for the customers doing it this way. Would defiantly be 5 star if Thier collection wasn't such...

Excellent food, generous portions, wonderful service.

Make sure to make a reservation as this restaurant can be very busy. It's a wonky little place with several doors that may or may not be the right one to get in. 😅 Aim for the door by Stopford Road.
