Khutorok-ukrainian traditional cuisine restaurant located close to Atyrau Drama Theater, pretty much all taxi drivers know where it is. This restaurant offers a decent variety of dishes, meats, fish and veggies based. Absolute favorites are : draniki (fried potatoe pan cakes with mushrooms and plain), dumplings with 🍒 and potatoes. Salads and xrenovuha (horse raddish vodka), also cranberry vodka-homemade available, pepper-honey vodka as well. Live music band starts @ 8pm Friday and Saturday. Smoking and non-smoking dining areas separated, each on different floor. Friendly staff, waiters dressed in national Ukrainian clothing, some speak English. Restaurant decorated in authentic Ukrainian style, not very big place, usually booked, so please book your table in advance. Locals, as well as expats are often visitors here. Like if my review was helpful to you. Well recommended restaurant for authentic Ukrainian experience in...
Read moreI believe, this is one of the few ukrain restaurants in Atyrau. I least, probably the most popular one. I visited it at daytime and evening, so I can evaluate what the atmosphere like. I really like the waiters: their uniforms in ukrain national style and they try to make relevant accent, while they speak. This is good tendency towards to be client-orientated. I am sure if there English menu is available, certainly kazakh one was missing for some reason. The interior was also nicely decorated by theme. It was clean also. Many meals are made or served by pork, therefore few choice for people, who don't consume this product. At evenings, there is usually a live music, obviously with ukrain songs. A lot more people use this place to sit and drink vodka, so I cannot say it is comfortable to go there with children. The price was a little bit higher than average. It is worth to go there at least once and take...
Read moreI was introduced to Hutorok maybe 8 years ago. It's a relatively quiet restaurant specializing in Ukrainian dishes. The serving staff are affable, attentive and friendly, reasonably quick and efficient in serving, watching for customers who signal for attention.
The recent expansion and opening of the upper floor has allowed the regular singer and musician to go upstairs and so create a choice. Noisy rambunctiousness upstairs or quiet conversation downstairs. The restaurant is very family friendly so you tend to get children running around the tables on Friday or Saturday, so maybe downstairs isn't quite so quiet.
I go there at least once per turnaround in Winter, twice in Summer. As to the menu items, the potato pancakes stuffed with mushrooms and grilled liver in cream sauce with a side of black bread fried in garlic butter...
