Calista — Restaurant in Shymkent

Maybe you have good food, maybe you have a good service, maybe you have the best waiters, maybe your local has a good atmosphere, maybe there is good music, maybe (of course... no way!) your place is beautiful... but yesterday we couldn't see it because you didn't let us enter to your restaurant for your "dress code". We have been travelling for almost one year around the world because we love the diversity, discovering the cultures and also the diferent dresses and diversity of the people! This is the first time that it happens to us in all our lives and it is not about jeans, flip flops or shorts, as you have in your door because we didn't wear them. We didn't expect that in the XXI century and in a local that has the world drawed in its roof could have this type of ancient rules. Kazakhstan is a modern country with amazingly beautiful people, don't come back to a retrograde mind with this kind of unpleasant rules in your local. We think that this is racist, segregacionist and closed mind. A kind waiter offered us to go into the local to a closed room, but we didn't accept because we don't like the places where people are judged by their appearances and not for the respect that they have to others. Thanks to the waiter who looked after us and listened to our opinion and also thanks to the security man for being understanding. To the owner of the local: We hope that some day you could change your mind and with it the sign that you have in your entrance and the obsolete and outdated filosofy of your local. Knajpa na samym wejściu robi dobre wrażenie; eleganckie wnętrze, czystość, niestety potem jest gorzej: brak nawet podstawowego angielskiego menu, więc tłumaczenie bardzo długiej karty zajmuje kilka minut i to nawet nie byłoby problemem, gdyby nie to, że… obsługa przychodzi co chwilę i stoi nad klientem, poganiając czy już wybrane, nie ma odpowiedniego wyczucia, w tym miejscu można palić, chociaż w dzień nie bylo wielu palaczy, zamówiony Burger ładnie się prezentował, ale był wysuszony na wiór, mięso słone i przepalone, bułka spieczona do maksimum, kompletnie bez przypraw podbijających smak. Nie da się zjeść do końca. W zestawie smaczne tylko frytki. Niestety jedzenie pozostało niemiłym wspomnieniem - bólem brzucha i innymi dolegliwościami gastrycznymi! Być może dla miejscowych jest to miejsce akceptowalne, ale turystycznie nie polecam, a...
