City Food Court — Restaurant in City of Kisumu

Finally the perfect homey sit down restaurant in Kisumu! It's so beautifully designed. So ornate. Definitely Somali owners. Very Middle Eastern design concepts. Lots of shapes and gold colours. It's located in the CBD on Oginga Odinga street past the clock roundabout and it's open till late. The seats are so comfy they might as well be in your house. Perfect place for a date or just a chill evening. You can bring the kids or just a friend or if you want to chill alone. The wait service could be better and maybe they could do better with cleanliness of the floor etc. Although I visited late evening so maybe that's part of it. The menu is voluminous and very Somali themed with lots of meat dishes but there's something for everyone. The wait for the food isn't too long. Maybe 15 to 20 minutes. I will definitely be going back...

Would have been five stars but there was an issue. The service is quick. The interior is nice and comfortable seating. Open 6am until 10pm sometimes will stay open to 11pm if customers are still around. The lemon ice tea and iced ginger tea was nice. The chicken curry was very nice and good portion. The prices are not expensive and cheaper than similar type of restaurants in the area. I think the name of the place would be better named something else as food court suggests a mall type setting and this is a nice restaurant that deserves a nice name. The only issue was the burger the bread was hard and didn't taste nice and the burger meat itself was very dry and taste wasn't great. They could improve the burger. Great ambience right at the centre of the city. Quiet and ideal for meetings over coffee or a meal. No music at all during my visit.
