The Oasis Beach Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Gombato Bongwe ward

This is my third day taking the time to eat at this restaurant due to its proximity to my lodging. Every experience has been unpleasant. Most times they lack the items on the menu, will completely forget items that you have ordered, bring you substitute items instead of what you asked for rather than giving you the option to decide if you even want an alternative. I've been given drinks that were different than what I ordered and told that they were preparing dishes without prawns and calamri, just fish because that's all they had. I'm not understanding why they wouldn't ask me if that is what I even want understanding that's not what I ordered. There's no regard for allergies or customer preferences and autonomy. The service is slow, they are not prompt, and the food is mediocre. Additionally, this restaurant is located right on the beach, I came in to eat lunch wanting to sit under a covered area because I have experienced bugs and leaves falling onto my table and glasses, as well there were no sitting in any other areas. I have on a bathing suit with bottoms that are SHORTS, not a thong bikini, but shorts. I was told that I cannot sit there and would have to move because I can't wear swimwear in that area. Again this is a beachfront restaurant and I have been here before and seen people wear swimwear with seemingly no issue. I've given this restaurant too many chances and I will no longer give them my time or money, it's making my entire...

Location is absolutely amazing,  the band is even better, that is as good as it gets,

Upon arriving we had to hunt down a waiter, no hostess, no waiter to welcome or sit you down, once we asked for service from an old Mzee (waiter), he told us to pick a chair (there were many empty chairs but no tables) and go find a customer and ask them to join the table. ..

Upon asking if they are fully booked no problem we can always come back another time, he pointed ag another table and told us we can take that table and carry it to where we want to sit, he was so rude it was rather sad,

Upon requesting for supervisor or manager, he refused and said when he sees them he will bring them, they are busy now...

We actually came for the band, the band is AMAZING!

Service is absolutely horrific as always, the waiters have no system, everyone serving tables at either end, chaotic system, you have to go to the bar or after your waiter each time to get a drink, food takes long, both tables next to us were complaining to there waiters, visitors to Diani,  they had to "beg" for drinks,  highky untrained service staff,

tried a pizza and prawn salad on 12th march, pizza in comparison with neighbour hotels / restaurants, expect 2/10 at most, it was really bad and the dough used was terrible.

Asked for a take away, my pizza was wrapped in foil like ugali from a "kibanda" 🤣

Otherwise, location is great, band is amazing!

By far the most terrible experience I’ve had on my trip. We called before we went to get lunch and drinks to inquire about card payments but someone answered and told us he’ll call back but didn’t. We ended up going since it was close to our hotel, the food was bad, the bread and chips were soggy, the cocktails weren’t great either. The servers don’t come to you, and we had to wait at least 30 minutes before getting served( they’re were around three tables of people). But the most upsetting part was after we took our drinks to the beach chairs under the shade, someone came and told us it was occupied ( mind you we’ve been sitting there for around 3 hours and there was no personal belongings on the chairs) we moved to the other chair, and the lady said she’s occupying the chairs for her friends and we still have to go. When we asked the guard he said there were towels on them, and when we asked the server he said the towels are the bars property and it doesn’t matter but the guests were staying there so we have to move. So we ended up leaving, because they didn’t even show us...
