Food for Instagram, not for heart and soul.

I have heard a lot of good stuff about this restaurant. Farm to fork, fresh ingredients.

I tried make a reservation last month. It was cancelled, because the restaurant decided to change the operation time to 5pm without any notice on the website.

I booked again today at 2pm, received a confirmation for 9am, then when we arrived, the reservation was for 12pm. They should really look at that booking system again. So, we looked like we were 2 hours late for our lunch. The waitress took us to a table which is right in front of the grill. She gave us the menu then she left us to choose the menu.

My husband started tearing due to too much smoke and dust. We approach another waiter requesting for another table at the back. He refused, and told us all the table were booked. But there were no one till the time we left. Luckily, the waitress who served us gave us another table.

Every table was given a little pot of peanuts, as they wait for their food. We were not given, as if we were being punished for being "late".

There were 5 beef dishes on the menu, out of which only the more expensive one are available. We asked the waitress what was " Beef Tamahock" she can't even explain, and said part of the cow. Probably should just remove what is not there on the menu.

I ordered a smoked pork ramen. The egg tastes funny, the texture was not right, taste like really over stayed cooked egg, the egg white part is already looked rough and weird. I told the waitress, she brought up the issue with the chef. The chef was offended, show us the egg and told us that was Traditional Japanese recipe. Probably the chef should ask what was wrong and how was the experience at the first place. Growing up eating pickle eggs for the past 30 years, this is the first time someone told me how an egg should taste. Like telling an Indian, how he doesn't know his curry.

The table next to us also complaining how the food was terrible, raw staff etc.

I was looking forward to the dessert so much, even telling my husband how I am going to ask for everything in the display counter.

After the main course, probably the dessert was going to turn out to be disappointing...

I was here less than a week ago. The place is beautiful, the ambiance is great, but I was disappointed with the food. First, the prawns were boiled in a lot of soup; it would have been nice to mention that on the menu. It wasn’t very exciting, and I’ve had better prawns in Nairobi. I was looking forward to eating wagyu beef, so I ordered the burger, but I was really disappointed. It was more like a sloppy joe because the beef patty was loose, and the taste wasn’t quite there. It tasted like something I could have easily made at home. The only other wagyu beef option on the menu was the tartare.

We ordered Margarita pizzas for the kids, and Miyagi pizza for the adults the kids option was great! Another good meal was the barbecued fish, it was enjoyable. We ordered sodas for the kids, but what came were juices, and they were not carbonated, so I'm not sure why they're called sodas.

The service was quite slow at the beginning. We ordered our drinks, but they took too long to arrive; in the end, the drinks came alongside the food. Otherwise, the service was good. It is thoughtful that all the service staff could communicate through a push-to-talk device; it made things seamless

They have ample parking, and it’s free, but you have to walk a long dusty distance, and you’re not covered from the elements. In the event of rain, you’d be in trouble.

My companion mentioned that the gents had only two washrooms, so there was a queue, especially since there are no urinals outside the washroom. For such a big place, it would be nice to consider adding more facilities, as it also means cleaning cannot happen between usage since there’s always a queue.

It’s an okay restaurant, but I feel it’s overrated. I did not get the experience I was hoping for. If you’re a meat lover, you might be disappointed. On the other hand, they did mention their menu is seasonal. If you’re a vegetarian, you’ll love the place - they’ve got tons of options! Oh, and the corkage fee...
