La Cantina — Restaurant in Nairobi

Went there with my other half, we love blue cheese so in any pizzeria we go we order 4 formaggi, we did that here as well. In the menu it was stating the 4 cheeses they use of which the blue cheese was one of. When we ate the pizza the cheeses were only 3, the blue cheese was missing and they put feta instead. Like who puts feta on a 4 formaggi?? After telling them we didn't get either a satisfying answer neither a simple apology, nothing. Another very disgusting thing was that the kitchen shares the same passage/ throughway with the toilet so they kind of have to walk with your dishes almost through the toilet to serve them. Also the toilets weren't kept too well, they looked ike they needed a renovation. Anyway the blue cheese missing on a 4 formaggi and the waiters walking through the toilets to get your food to the table is enough to tell you to stay away........ Sadly. Because I knew the previous Italian owner and his food and his courtesy towards clients was always on point. Maybe the kenyan owner has other priorities,...

The restaurant has an old Italian vibe. You can tell it's been there for a while. It doesn't get busy, so it's perfect for those people who enjoy intimate dates or hangouts. They also play nice Italian music in the background which adds to the experience. We weren't lucky to get the pizza as the chef left early, but the chef managed to make us a wild mushroom risotto for me and pan fried fish for my date. The food was hearty and filling, the risotto was okay but the fish was perfectly done. The service was great, we had an attentive waiter who took us through the menu and assisted us when selecting our meals. He also advised one gets a discount if you post their meal and tag them...

If I could give a review of 0 stars I would. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I would NOT recommend the food from this restaurant to anyone. More specifically their beef and chicken burgers. I just wish I had known how poor the quality was before I ordered from here. Couldn't finish the food. It was Unpalatable. From a soggy bun to underdone chicken....it really isn't worth it. I also spoke to the supervisor who apologised for the bad experience. Here's the punchline though...she said that she had checked the food before it went out but she still claimed to have been surprised at the quality of food delivered...
