I'll tell you this: there is no place in Nairobi that serves better ramen than they do. Not a single place. I have had ramen and noodle soup bowls at a few other places but there is no broth like Chekafe's broth. Pro tip: their pork broth is really going to take you on a journey to a satisfied pallate. The chicken is great, but pork has patented flavour tricks. If you like tender, juicy pork belly, a delicious broth, and noodles pulled by hand in-house, this is the place for you. Their gyoza and udon curry are great as well. My only complaint is that they only opened in August...which isn't even a real complaint.

Mai-san deserves a little paragraph of her own because she is so precious and a blessing that can never be eclipsed.

This is also one of the two places that I know of (the other being Cheka Izakaya) where you can get nicely done plum liquor. They make it themselves and actually go through the entire year-long preparation process. Goodness. It is a subjectively great drink but objectively amazing. Their two sangrias are also of high-tier rank and have a small selection of beers (draft included) to align with you preferences.

The service is great, the ambience is nice, but do bring a warm article of clothing because we know how chilly outdoor seating gets within Nairobi. They also have a collection of potted plants in various sizes at fairly affordable rates...but that is a more of a bonus feature than...

Here’s a polished version of your feedback:

I am not Japanese, but I have always been curious about Japanese cuisine. My impression of it often depends on my first meal at a particular restaurant, and I must say, this place did not disappoint!

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a subtle elegance that reflected Japanese culture. The staff were incredibly polite and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.

The food itself was exceptional. Every dish was beautifully presented, and the flavors were well-balanced and authentic. The sushi was fresh and delicate, while the miso soup was comforting and rich in flavor. I particularly enjoyed Sushi, which was an absolute delight to the taste buds.

What stood out most was the attention to detail—not just in the food but in the overall experience. It felt like a little piece of Japan had been brought right to my table.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to explore the true essence of Japanese cuisine. I look forward to visiting again and trying more dishes...

This was my first visit to Chekafe. Off the bat I was highly impressed with the staff welcoming me so warmly. As I was coming in, everyone called out “welcome!” so cheerfully. Immediately I knew it was going to be a great experience. Then the beauty of the place!! The decor is really chill yet stunning. I felt extremely comfortable. See photos. Michelle was my server and she was so amazing. She made sure everything was going well for me and I truly felt like a VIP. Thanks so much Michelle! Keep up the good vibes! Then there’s the food! I had the chicken dumplings - which were seasoned so well! Shoutout to the chef! And I had a ginger ale which was super refreshing. I will definitely be back! Oh and as I was leaving, the entire staff called out “thank you!” I felt super special and my evening was made. I never forget great customer service and Chekafe has it!! The great food and beautiful ambience are just an added plus....
