So this evening I took a short walk to the neighbouring restaurant next to my resort, figured let me check this place out—every night you can hear the bass, music and even karaoke going on. Seemed so much fun! Anyhow, the restaurant was packed, I was seated at a large table that had 3 benches, and at one bench, a couple was already sitting enjoying their day. I sat at a second bench, leaving ample space between them and I. After I received my drinks and put in my order, the server returned and asked me to move so that his group of 4 could sit down. Mind you, I’m not sure how he was thinking all of us could sit there because we would not all fit comfortably eating & drinking…anyhow, one of his European guests quickly saw what was happening and tried to intervene by saying “no no, you don’t have to leave, she doesn’t have to move!!!” But the damage was already done, I stood up and “moved” out of his way and asked for the bill. “What about your food??” He asked. I wasn’t sure if at that point I was losing myself mind. I had to re-explain to him what he just did, how it was rude and embarrassing. He tried to explain that he meant for me to move over so they could all sit. It really made no sense. Why are you packing the place when there isn’t sufficient space. Where would I sit if 4 more people joined? On their head? I would never go back, or recommend this place. There is definitely a demographic that they tailor to, and it’s not for types like myself (Canadian black woman dining solo). Surprising, but sadly not surprising for Diani beach. I wish I read the reviews about the lack of respect to black patrons before I went. They still managed to get 1000 shillings out of me for 2 sips out of the drinks I had before...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews, but this place was a huge disappointment.Coming from a viral TikTok video from a girl on TikTok talking about taking the rude boss and how he underpays them here is my research after visiting this place.....The food itself was overpriced for what you get. Portions were small, definitely not worth the money. I ordered a cocktail and it was honestly a joke —just some frozen juice that tasted bland. For the price, I expected way better quality and service. This place was a complete letdown — the owner was shouting across the restaurant, and the tension was obvious. The staff looked exhausted and stressed out. I came in the morning and returned later in the evening, only to see the same waiter still working — no break, same tired face. It really seems like they’re overworked and underappreciated. Without the beach view, the place loses all charm. You really start to notice how run-down and badly managed it is. There are way better places to eat that care about both their staff and their customers. This isn’t one of them Wouldn’t recommend. There are plenty of other places that treat both their customers and staff with more respect and...
Read moreHeard and read a lot about this place and went to check it out with some friends... Access is easy and parking ample., the place is nicely situated on the beach, front row.. Service was quite slow and the daiquiri I ordered was nothing CLOSE to even resembling a daiqari.. Not even close, and when asked about it they just said they didn't have the things to make it, yet took the order and gave me some lousy cocktail. Very well.. Ordered a plain salad, which they said they had, even though it was not on the menu. The "garden salad" took longer than my friends chicken and chips, and when it came it was just some regular kachumbari or some kale thrown together, quite the dissapointment.. The "DJ" was playing some VERY sad and strange 80-90s music which no one had ever ever heard of, strange songs (I'm a DJ and know most music, yet never heard this balads and odd music) which was a strange selection as it was a nice day with people wanting to drink and enjoy. All in all not impressed and probably won't promote...
