Chill Spot — Restaurant in Ukunda ward

One of my favourite places in Diani.

Chill Spot is a bar / restaurant and is located right on the beach front. Chill Spot is one of the most beautiful places to stop, have a drink, maybe some food and definitely chill and enjoy the views out to the ocean.

This place really is a gem, there is a pool table for customers wanting a little competition with their friends, the seating area is totally relaxed and inviting. All views lead to the beautiful sands and the ocean and the seating area caters for Singles, couples, families and groups of friends. It's quiet and serene with comfortable seating and uninterrupted views.

They offer a wide range of beverages from wines, beers, ciders and cocktails with soda's for the younger generation and they offer a full menu where you can get everything from a snack to a full meal, locally caught fish and seafood is also available on the menu.

Take your time and relax - you are never bothered by the wonderful and friendly staff and you never feel like you need to leave. Thoroughly recommend. If you go to no other place, you must...

I spent about four months in Diani and I absolutely LOVE Chill Spot! The view is incredible. The owner is a young Kenyan, so I felt great supporting the establishment. The staff is great very friendly and laid back. It feels like family. The waiter/bartender, Spapa, makes THE BEST cocktails in Diani. I reccomend the cocktail, Chillspot Sunrise. Not only is it delicious, but it works it's "magic" after one glass, and after two glasses you will have more worries (very hakuna Matata). Yes, the food takes a while, but that is because everything is FRESH and cooked to order. It's a place to chill, so do so, while you wait for your food! I reccomend the Chapati rolls and the samosas. They seem very simple, but they're absolutely delicious here!

Update as of 8/2021: I heard they've got pizza now! Someone let me know...

We wanted to have lunch with 15 people and ordered some pizzas and other dishes. After 1,5 hour waiting some dishes arrived but more than half were still missing. After another 45 minutes we were told that all the rest of the dishes would come in 10 minutes. However 15 minutes later they brought out 1 of the 6 remaining dishes. When we decided to pay and leave we were told by the cook that he was out of stock for our orders which is what caused the wait. None of this was communicated beforehand and the communication that had been happened beforehand had us believing out food was coming, which was untrue.
