I've been coming to Cafe Vanille regularly and like this location especially. There's a nice mix of local Lao and foreigners eating and mingling -- I'm always a fan of restaurants that bring people together. I've gone back and forth over the years on their coffee -- it's hit or miss for me, but some friends really like it. That said, I think Cafe Vanille has the best breakfast in town. My son loves it, and their bacon is delicious. Croissants and pastries are also great -- really can't miss here, it's all delicious. Waited 20 minutes to catch staff attention. Went to the counter to order a coffee. Waited 20 minutes for coffee or a staff member to take a food order. Neither came. Ordered food and coffee again at the counter. Waited 30 minutes while other patrons who arrived after received their food. Coffee was terrible. Burnt lashings of milk with weak amount of coffee. Read moreI had breakfast here (#3) with a friend. Breakfast wasn’t anything special, so I got a ham and cheese croissant after breakfast. It was pretty good. The next day I went to a different location (#1) at 6:30am and got one of the most magical pastries I’ve ever had. Was it thinly sliced bananas on top?
