I had breakfast here (#3) with a friend. Breakfast wasn’t anything special, so I got a ham and cheese croissant after breakfast. It was pretty good. The next day I went to a different location (#1) at 6:30am and got one of the most magical pastries I’ve ever had. Was it thinly sliced bananas on top? I’m sure I’d be a regular customer to one or all of the Cafe Vanille locations if I lived in Vientiane. Nice options. Nice atmosphere. Nice grocery store inside.

This must be one of the most French looking and feeling boulangerie and eat-in cafe in Vientiane. Their baked goods are truly artisan and while dining in, I spotted couriers from some well known establishments buying their bread here. My steak was not the best one that I have had in my life but defo cooked with love and skills and for the price of 75K is a real bargain:) pity that the fries were not cut up to French standards. Service was lovely.

Love the baguettes. Poor quality food esp fish and chips. Served dread in oil, bad fishy/not fresh smell, mushy texture. After I cut open, informed server of the poor quality. They took the plate back. Refried and returned to me with the cold fries. Have been avoiding this venue for hosting working lunches, but sometimes for the sake of other's convenience, the venue was chosen.

I've been coming to Cafe Vanille regularly and like this location especially. There's a nice mix of local Lao and foreigners eating and mingling -- I'm always a fan of restaurants that bring people together. I've gone back and forth over the years on their coffee -- it's hit or miss for me, but some friends really like it. That said, I think Cafe Vanille has the best breakfast in town. My son loves it, and their bacon is delicious. Croissants and pastries are also great -- really can't miss here, it's all delicious. Cafe Vanille also has a small market of imported goods and a small community board with some activities around town. There's some outside seating. Great place to catch a bite or...

Standard french cafe fare. Reasonable prices for reasonable food. Excellent french wine selection. However what really detracted was the staffing and service. Selected a table. Waited 20 minutes to catch staff attention. Went to the counter to order a coffee. Waited 20 minutes for coffee or a staff member to take a food order. Neither came. Ordered food and coffee again at the counter. Waited 30 minutes while other patrons who arrived after received their food. Coffee was terrible. Burnt lashings of milk with weak amount of coffee. Wanted to walk out....
