This review is particularly more for the staff, the bar itself is nice and definitely is a place to party. The crowd seemed to get a bit more mixed at around 10:30pm and the music was good but continuously remixed on the night we went. I can only comment on the price of the beer which was averagely priced for the area. Now the staff, they are all very welcoming and speak a good level of English and seemed friendly. One staff member in particular, named Lee, we felt went above and beyond to ensure we were safe and comfortable. My friend and I were approached by a group of 5 older men who didn’t speak English and we felt quite overwhelmed being unable to communicate and not knowing what they wanted, Lee was instantly aware of this situation and checked in on us to see if we were okay and politely asked the men to leave and return to their table. He stayed by our table making sure everything was okay until they had left and then asked us if we were okay. One man returned with an English speaking friend and Lee once again was right beside us making sure we were okay. Throughout the night he continued to check on us in a very professional manner, he was observant and we felt safe knowing he was vigilant of everyone in the bar. Thank...

Weirdest thing happened which has never happen before in my 2 years of full time travel through middle East and Africa and now In SE Asia. As a travel journalist I love to go to local places to see how local people spend there time and I was at Sakura while I was there a group of thai women offered me to join them for a drink and poured me one or two which is very commom behavior around the world where people want yuh to join them. I was chilling with this group and one of them particularly was who was offering me super sweet woman and after me spending time with the group comes the waiter asking me to leave the table and just be by myself. I didn't understand why tho and he asked the drunkest girl who was dancing on the table if she knew me and she said probably no cz I dont speak the language. Ofcorse the drunk gal dancing on the table knows nothing. He didn't ask the gal who invited me cz I didn't understand what the hell was that waiter trying to achieve. Anyway after he ask me to move to another table I really felt unwelcomed and I left....

Did not go to the bar but the girl recruiting people to take a tuktuk to their temporary location was extremely rude. Whenever you said no thanks or whatever and kept walking she was making snide comments. It happened not once, not twice, but three different times. Twice to my wife and once to me as we wandered around town through the night. I'm not sure if she was drunk or what. Occurred on the night of 11/8/16.

It's too bad as my wife had planned on going there on another night but will not be now. I was especially shocked because the night before we had talked to the people out front doing the same thing and they were extremely pleasant and helpful, even though we told them we would not be...

If you really love you to party. Then you'll no doubt want to come to Sakura bar. The only real nightlife experience I saw in Vang Vieng. Drinks are very cheap (sometimes free during happy hour). Music is club music. 105-110 BPM all night. Lots of locals and backpackers. If you are traveling alone and want to make some Friends. Definitely the place. Also, if you are staying for a week or so here. Hit them up about work. Free booze and a little money for handing out flyers and being friendly

The bar is spacious and there are places both for smokers and non-smokers. The staff speak English well enough to communicate. The food menu is not rich but reasonable for a drink bar and the prices are not higher than average. Good selection of beers and drinks. The biggest problem for me was that it's too loud, but perhaps I am just too old for such a place. After 19.30. the bar is pretty packed already.
